РЕГИОНАЛЬНАЯ ЭКОЛОГИЧЕСКАЯ СЕТЬ ЧЕРНИГОВСКОЙ ОБЛАСТИ: ОСНОВНЫЕ СТРУКТУРНЫЕ ЭЛЕМЕНТЫ И ЕЕ РОЛЬ В СОХРАНЕНИИ БИОЛОГИЧЕСКОГО РАЗНООБРАЗИЯ И ЛАНДШАФТОВ СЕВЕРО-ВОСТОКА УКРАИНЫ

Впервые для территории Черниговской области разработана схема региональной экосети, с учетом существующей законодательной базы, современных тенденций сохранения био- и ландшафтного разнообразия, особенностей природно-заповедного фонда региона, а также приведены характеристики ее основных структурных элементов, их ценности и та важности.

CHERNIHIV REGIONAL ECOLOGICAL NETWORK: STRUCTURAL CHARACTERISTICS AND IMPACT ON THE CONSERVATION OF BIO- AND LANDSCAPE DIVERSITY OF THE NORTH-EAST OF UKRAINE

We suggest a model of Chernihiv ecological network considering the present-day legislation, modern trends in preserving bio- and landscape diversity and the regional peculiarities. The article discusses the structure of the model and highlights its expected positive impact. The given model has been created in accord with basic principles underlying ecological networks and adopted in Ukraine. While designing the structure of the model we considered the regional qualitative and quantitative markers such as the structure of hydrographic network, forest and water-swamp territories being intact, concentration of reserve objects and reserve territories differing in degrees of legal protection, the ratio of flat and aquatic landscapes, distribution of localities and habitats as well as rare biota species, representation of legally protected cenoses, animals’ migration routes, territories being intact (in the natural state) or anthropologically transformed. The suggested model employs the following spatial data concerning dominant types of natural forests and water territories, the system of legally protected territories and their connections to adjacent territories and objects. We consider the segments of preserved natural biotopes and reserve objects to be the key natural territories within the discussed model. Eco-corridors (transition territories were chosen primarily on the basis of rivers’ valleys and their respective components. The model of Chernihiv regional ecological network encompasses the following basic elements: 19 key territories (6 of which are of national significance, 10 – of regional significance, 3- of local significance) and 29 eco-corridors (transition zones) (3 – of national significance, 19- of regional significance, 7 - of local significance).
